Position Overview

As a Grocery Merchandising Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to organize and optimize merchandise displays in designated retail locations. This role involves both independent work and collaboration with a team, as you travel to various stores to execute merchandising resets. A foundational understanding of product placement and shelf organization, including the use of plan-o-grams, is essential. In addition to setting up displays, you will be tasked with maintaining shelf cleanliness and effectively communicating with store management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Compensation: $17/hour
  • Responsibilities include installing, adjusting, and arranging grocery products on shelves in assigned retail environments
  • Utilize layout plans or plan-o-grams to ensure proper merchandise placement
  • Assist in covering routes for Sales personnel, restocking shelves, and placing orders for low inventory items
  • Collaborate with store representatives and supervisors to gather feedback and enhance service quality
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate stock according to expiration guidelines
  • Provide weekly reports to management detailing completed tasks in stores
  • Participate in additional projects as assigned
  • Travel may be required

Required Skills:

  • Customer service expertise, basic math and reading skills, and the ability to work independently while prioritizing customer needs
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Insurance coverage of $500,000 single limit is required, though lower limits may be accepted under certain conditions.

Experience Requirements:

  • 0-2 years: A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in retail, with a preference for those with grocery or shelf management experience.

Educational Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma in General Studies.
