Position Summary:

The Senior Operational Technology (OT) Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the systems utilized within the OT framework at Veolia North America. This position is accountable for the design, execution, management, support, and ongoing enhancement of various technologies including Windows Servers, Linux Servers, DNS, DHCP, Storage, Active Directory, Virtualization, Backup, Restoration, Cloud infrastructures, and associated services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess extensive technical expertise in system architecture, operations, alert management, and monitoring.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide training to fellow System Engineers within the team.
  • Contribute to the establishment of system standards, policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Implement ITIL methodologies in daily operations.
  • Collaborate with OT Security to develop secure solutions for critical infrastructure.
  • Select and utilize top-tier tools for system performance and management.
  • Actively participate in decision-making processes within the team.
  • Serve as the escalation point for significant system issues.
  • Conduct thorough Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) in a timely manner.
  • Engage with managed service providers to optimize system performance.
  • Participate in change control committees, providing insights on system modifications to minimize production disruptions.
  • Adhere to Veolia's safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align with organizational objectives.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Recommend innovative technologies and solutions.
  • This role is essential to the regulated operations of Veolia North America.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in System Engineering.
- Proficient in system solutions including server management, virtualization, backup, recovery, and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, VMware, Citrix, and AWS (GCP experience is a plus).

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong customer service skills and effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Assist in shaping the strategic vision for the enterprise.
- Excellent communication and motivational capabilities.
- Experience in budget forecasting and reporting.
- Capacity to manage multiple high-priority projects.

Certifications:
- Preferred certifications include AWS, GCP, Windows, and Linux.
- ITIL Certification is required.

Work Environment:

The role is primarily office-based, utilizing standard office equipment. Occasional travel to other Veolia or client locations may be necessary.
