Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with kidney disease, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
- Obtain and document necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
- Evaluate vascular access pre-treatment and perform vascular access cannulation.
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and report any significant information or changes in patient condition to the supervisor.
- Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collect, label, and store lab samples according to laboratory specifications.
- Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surfaces, chairs, equipment, and surrounding areas between treatments.
- Assist other healthcare members in providing patient education and support.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility (preferred but not required).
- Successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and CPR certification.
