Job Summary:
Caldera Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN Unit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to our residents and supervising a team of nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Duties:
- Assign daily work tasks and direct the work of nursing staff
- Reassign staff as needed to ensure efficient care delivery
- Prepare written evaluations of staff performance
- Enforce company policies and procedures, and take disciplinary action when necessary
- Initial time records and authorize variances
- Receive and address employee complaints
- Participate in training programs and assist with new staff orientation
- Nursing Management Responsibilities:
- Assess and implement individualized care plans for residents
- Ensure routine assessments and evaluations are completed by staff
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resident care
- Communicate regularly with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Document resident care and progress accurately and timely
- Assist with resident care as needed, including filling in for absent staff
- Process new admission orders and assist with the admission process
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
- Monitor and order supplies as needed
- Receive and transcribe physician orders to resident charts
- Requirements:
- Current RN license in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a long term care setting (preferred)
- BLS certification
- Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines
