We are seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to contribute to our projects. This role involves designing protection and control systems for substations serving electric utilities, with voltage levels ranging from 12kV to 500kV. In this role, you will gain experience in:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing Relay One Line Diagrams.
  • Creating Three Line AC Schematic Designs.
  • Developing DC Protection Schematic Designs.
  • Designing Panel Layouts and Wiring Schematics.
  • Generating Bills of Materials Based on Design Specifications.
  • Performing Quality Control Checks on Wiring Designs.
  • Providing Comprehensive Project Lifecycle Support from Initial Scoping to Final Design and Implementation.
  • Offering Construction Support.
  • Applying National Electrical Safety Code Standards in Design Processes.
  • Adhering to Client Standards in Design Implementation.
  • Collaborating with Designers/Drafters to Produce Required Project Drawings.
Successful candidates will be expected to uphold quality control and safe work practices while ensuring compliance with project scope, timelines, and budgets. This position is part of a design team that includes engineers, designers, and CAD technicians, all working together to meet client standards.

Qualifications:
  • Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with two (2+) or more years of experience in substation protection control design and/or field testing/commissioning.
  • Senior-Level: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with four (4+) or more years of experience in substation protection control design and/or field testing/commissioning.
  • Lead-Level: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field with eight (8+) or more years of experience in substation protection control design and/or field testing/commissioning.
  • Experience executing substation protection and control projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in reading and designing substation protection and control diagrams, including one-line, three-line, AC/DC schematic drawings, and wiring designs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure situations.
  • A collaborative leader who can work effectively in a team environment.
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to solve problems in both team and independent settings.
  • High level of computer proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel to project and/or client sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Experience conducting quality control checks on small substation protection and control design projects.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Field testing/commissioning experience.
