Position Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for collecting and preparing specimens and conducting laboratory tests essential for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases. You will ensure accurate and timely reporting of lab results while adhering to regulatory standards and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human physiology and the impact of diseases relevant to testing.
- Adhere to laboratory protocols for specimen management, test analysis, and record-keeping.
- Conduct tests authorized by the Laboratory Director, ensuring skill level matches education and training.
- Perform various laboratory tests, evaluate results, and accurately report findings in the Laboratory Information System.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or reporting, notifying appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Document corrective actions for any deviations from established laboratory performance standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or life science with relevant clinical laboratory experience within the last five years.
- OR a Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology with clinical rotation.
- National Registration as an MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), or equivalent, or registry-eligible at the time of hire.
- If not certified at hire, national certification must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff, patients, and families.
