Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of daily basketball operations and practice sessions.
- Support student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits, focusing on their overall development.
- Monitor and evaluate student-athlete performance, ensuring adherence to academic standards.
- Engage in recruitment efforts to attract and retain talented student-athletes.
- Maintain effective communication with prospective athletes through various channels.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during workouts and practices.
- Stay updated on NCAA regulations and university policies.
- Collaborate with the coaching staff to develop training programs and strategies.
- Assist in the organization of team events and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience in collegiate basketball, either as a player or coach.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using coaching and recruiting technology.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions: This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive environment for all participants. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach and other staff members to uphold the integrity of the program.
