Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Counselor to join our team at Rogers Behavioral Health. As a Medical Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing direct social services to patients and their families, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate direct social services to patients and their families
  • Perform duties as directed by the manager, including cognitive behavioral therapies and social services
  • Serve as patient advocate, following System policy and procedure
  • Document progress according to the treatment plan
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to identify and address patient needs
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of clinical interventions
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in staff meetings, group and individual supervision meetings, and in-services relevant to the position
  • Comply with the organization's policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, or related field, from an accredited school of Social Work
  • Experience in health care and in a psychiatric setting, preferred
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) required within sixty (60) days of date of hire
  • Bi-annual re-certification required
