Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a key member of our Public Safety Department, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining order, and ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce traffic, commercial motor carrier, environmental health, and criminal laws
  • Conduct investigations of criminal offenses, traffic accidents, and related infractions
  • Provide guidance and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Supervise gate personnel and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of proper law enforcement officer behavior and role
  • Knowledge of modern law enforcement techniques and procedures
  • Ability to correctly evaluate situations and make good decisions
  • Ability to deal firmly, yet tactfully, with the general public
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds
