As a member of the healthcare team at CHRISTUS Health, the Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation Specialist evaluates and treats patients whose ability to function is impaired by disease or injury. This role utilizes therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation procedures, and physical agents within the scope of a licensed physical therapist. The Physical Therapist collaborates with other hospital personnel to ensure quality care for the patient. Additionally, this role may supervise the activities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Therapy Technicians, and student interns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients to determine the extent of their functional limitations and develop individualized treatment plans to address these limitations.
  • Implement therapeutic exercise programs, rehabilitation procedures, and physical agents to promote patient recovery and improve functional abilities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate patient treatment plans.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapist Assistants, Therapy Technicians, and student interns to ensure they are providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Texas.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification within two weeks of employment.
