Kamehameha Schools is looking for a dedicated Locker Room Supervisor to oversee the boys' locker room for our Middle School at our Kapālama Campus. This is a full-time regular position that includes comprehensive employee benefits. Job Summary

The Locker Room Supervisor will assist in managing locker room activities and is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of both the student and faculty locker room areas. This role includes regular inventory checks and supply reordering, as well as maintaining the surrounding areas of the gym.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee locker room activities and ensure daily cleaning of both student and faculty locker rooms, which includes sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping floors, as well as disinfecting toilets, showers, and sinks. Maintain cleanliness of windows, blinds, and fixtures.
  • Manage the laundering of towels for the school, ensuring that washers and dryers are kept clean and operational.
  • Conduct post-class inspections of locker rooms to collect locks, clothing, and personal items for return to students.
  • Regularly replenish restroom supplies and manage inventory of work supplies and equipment in coordination with the supervisor.
  • Ensure the gymnasium and surrounding areas are maintained to provide a safe and sanitary environment, including outdoor walkways and trash disposal.
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices for athletic facilities.
  • Proficient in using a PC and software applications such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate resourcefulness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an educational environment.
  • Understanding of middle school students and sensitivity to Hawaiian culture.
  • Familiarity with Kamehameha Schools' policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, desk-based tasks, and light manipulation.
  • Occasional standing, walking, writing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twisting, bending, or climbing.

Working Conditions

  • This position may involve travel to various locations.
  • Work is conducted in a school environment and may require flexibility in work locations.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
