Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiologic procedures, communicating with patients, and ensuring the accuracy of exams.
Key Responsibilities- Competently perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
- Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist and communicate with physicians, working independently outside the department as needed.
- Prepare and maintain records, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
- Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, and assist with accreditation efforts.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, requiring the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. The position may involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
