Job Overview

Bilingual Family Law Legal Assistants play a crucial role in supporting the legal team throughout various stages of family law cases. They are responsible for managing essential details from initial investigations to the finalization of pleadings and discovery processes.

Working closely with attorneys, these professionals assist in mediation sessions, prepare witnesses, conduct thorough research, and draft necessary legal documents. They are also tasked with preparing and organizing all exhibits related to the case. Upon the conclusion of the trial, the Bilingual Family Law Legal Assistant will ensure that all case files are properly closed.


Key Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law
  • Paralegal certification is required
  • Bilingual proficiency is mandatory

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, inventories, and financial statements for attorney use.
  • Draft standard pleadings, motions, and orders for attorney review.
  • Compile and prepare draft responses for discovery requests.
  • Analyze and categorize data; review reports and records provided by opposing counsel.
  • Facilitate communication between all parties involved in litigation, maintaining consistent contact with clients and collaborating closely with attorneys until the case is resolved.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Prepare financial statements, inventories, and child support calculations.
  2. Coordinate service of process and schedule hearings.
  3. Create comprehensive trial and mediation binders.
  4. Prepare materials and witnesses for case discussions.
  5. Organize pertinent documents for attorney evaluation and case preparation.
  6. Assist in mediation preparations.
  7. Compile and organize exhibits for trial presentation.
  8. File all necessary court documents.
  9. Provide regular updates on case status.
  10. Maintain communication with clients and opposing legal representatives.

Experience in family law is essential, and bilingual capabilities are a requirement for this position.
