About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by working directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with precision and accuracy.
  • Ensure that finished eyewear meets optical standards, customer requirements, and requests.
  • Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers in a clear and concise manner.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Set up the store for success by executing operational, service, and staff zoning procedures to Warby Parker standards.
  • Drive store vision and sales by providing exceptional service on the floor and serving as the main contact for customer and operational questions.
  • Lead and mentor the Optical team, including participants of the Optician Apprentice Program, and demonstrate excellent service standards.
  • Maintain general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
  • Foster a positive and productive employee culture in the store.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states) with 2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities.
  • Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
  • A clear, effective, and professional communicator who can break down technical terms for customers.
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and making customers (and teammates) happy.
  • An energetic and positive team player who can adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
