We are seeking a highly qualified Research Scientist to join our team at Prairie View A&M University. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an active research program in small ruminant biosecurity with an emphasis in immunology.

• Conceptualize, develop, and maintain an independent program of research in the Animal Sciences with emphasis on biosecurity and immunology.
• Direct ongoing laboratory work; supervise and guide specific activities of research support personnel; and conduct regular laboratory meetings and participate in program development and program enhancement.
• Participate in interdisciplinary research and collaborate with other scientists constituting the animal systems group; and write and publish research reports documenting laboratory activities and findings; engage in grantsmanship to increase external support for programmatic activities.
• Participate in professional/scientific meetings and disseminate research to various stakeholders and observe University and administrative policies to ensure full compliance with mandated training and implementation of the institutional program for animal care and use.

• Ph.D. in an applicable field or discipline.
• Four (4) years or more of related experience.

• Experience and/or strong interest in the area of reproductive immunology.
