Position Overview: The role of Clinical Radiology Educator is a part-time faculty position within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University. This position is integral to the educational framework, focusing on both teaching and clinical service within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Skills Curriculum (45%): Engage in the clinical skills team, providing direct instruction to veterinary students in the imaging laboratory. Responsibilities include administering objective structured clinical skills examinations (OSCEs) and developing clinical skills courses and labs.
- Radiology Instruction (45%): Deliver radiology education to veterinary students in both lab and classroom settings. Facilitate small group learning sessions and coordinate courses as assigned.
- Clinical Duties (10%): Assist in the instruction of house officers and perform clinical responsibilities as designated.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with three years of residency training in diagnostic imaging and one year of clinical experience. Board certification in Veterinary Imaging by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) is required.
Preferred: DVM with at least one year of experience in diagnostic radiology and imaging, with a demonstrated interest in teaching clinical skills and administering clinical examinations.
Special Requirements: This position involves working in environments with hazardous materials and infectious diseases. Candidates must be able to lift equipment and materials exceeding 50 pounds and maintain physical stamina for extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits: The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including participation in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and paid continuing education opportunities.
