We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genetic Counselor to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate will provide expert genetic counseling services to patients with cancer and other genetic disorders, and will also contribute to the development and implementation of clinical research studies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide genetic counseling services to patients with cancer and other genetic disorders
- Conduct genetic risk assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical research studies
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in genetic counseling and cancer research
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling or a related field
- ABGC board certification or active candidate status
- California genetic counselor license or current eligibility to become licensed
- At least 1 year of experience providing genetic counseling in an oncology setting
- Demonstrated capability for teaching and research
- Spanish language competency
- Experience with clinical research studies
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
