Orthopedic Medical Assistant Opportunity

At LifeBridge Health, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service. As a Medical Assistant in our Orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a physician, the Medical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical responsibilities to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. This includes applying orthopedic equipment, removing sutures and staples, and positioning patients for procedures. The Medical Assistant will also perform other functions to support hospital and departmental requirements, working proactively and in partnership with other staff to contribute to effective operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Applies and adjusts casts, splints, and braces, and fabricates casts using special materials.
  • Displays a commitment to teamwork by building strong relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and the community.
  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental policies and procedures, promoting patient and employee safety.
  • Identifies training and development opportunities for self.
  • Provides assistance and preparation prior to and during examination by healthcare providers.
  • Performs general clerical duties necessary to support physician office practice.
  • Displays a commitment to the value of teamwork by building strong relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and the community.


Requirements:
Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Experience: 1-3 years. American Heart Association CPR Certification and Graduate of accredited medical assistant program required.
