Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN House Supervisor to join our team at Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care planning and coordination.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient needs and ensure that care is being delivered in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Current RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • Two years of management experience in a mental health setting.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in psychiatric nursing, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, including medications and their effects on psychiatric patients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Experience in inpatient mental health settings at a management level.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in clinical supervision and personnel management concepts and methods.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The RN House Supervisor must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and move quickly and safely in response to patient needs.
