Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Agent I to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our IP team, you will play a critical role in preparing and prosecuting high-quality patent applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to identify and capture high-value intellectual property (IP) opportunities.
  • Assess patentability and freedom-to-operate to provide strategic counsel to R&D and business colleagues.
  • Develop and implement effective patent prosecution strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective protection of our IP assets.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of patent applications, including preparation of patent documents and correspondence with patent offices.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of patent law and regulations, including patentability and freedom-to-operate principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical information and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in patent information management systems and tools.
