Position Overview

  • Job Title: Instrumentation and Electrical Technician
  • Location: Ashtabula, OH
  • Compensation: $35.05/hour
  • Training Schedule: 1st shift from 7am-3:30pm, with flexibility for other shifts post-training
  • Employment Type: Direct Hire

The I&E Technician plays a crucial role in diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation challenges that could hinder the safe functioning of plant operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing, repairs, and enhancements on electrical instrumentation systems.
  • Efficiently maintain and repair manufacturing and utility equipment while ensuring safety.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot electrical apparatus, documenting any deviations, failures, or hazards.
  • Oversee the installation, calibration, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments and electrical devices.
  • Interpret and utilize technical drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls.
  • Perform repairs on control valves.
  • Engage in project teams to identify and propose continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Accurately complete reports and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting and repair, or a 2-year technical degree/certificate in industrial electricity along with 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a chemical plant environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
  • Physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders in various environments.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening.
