Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to provide on-site Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equipment safety, process safety, and chemical safety management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate current processes and workflows to identify risks and recommend ergonomic improvements to enhance worker safety and efficiency.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of chemical safety programs, including hazard communication, chemical hygiene plans, and the control of hazardous substances.
  • Prepare, apply for, and maintain necessary environmental permits, ensuring that all operations comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Lead safety training programs and toolbox talks, actively promoting a positive safety culture across the facility.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions using 8D methodology.
  • Maintain and update all EHS documentation, including risk assessments, incident reports, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs and weekly hazardous waste inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and identify potential safety hazards.
  • Oversee contractors on-site to ensure they adhere to all EHS standards and protocols.
  • Provide ancillary EHS support to other sites within the region as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with process safety and chemical safety management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, results-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to perform regular facility walkthroughs and inspections, which may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
