Job SummaryThe CNC Machinist will work on-site at the GE Service Center to service and manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their subassemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions.
Key Responsibilities- Work in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries
- Set-up and operate CNC equipment including fixtures and tooling
- Read CNC programs, familiar with G & M codes
- Make minor edits to CNC programs
- Read and interpret Engineered Blueprint drawings
- Understand and apply geometric tolerances
- Set up and safely use various inspection tools and gages (i.e., inner diameter (I/D) & outer diameter (O/D) Mics, calipers, Pi-tape, bore gages, Tri-mics, thread gages, etc...)
- Machine to required tolerances of.001"
- Determine machining feeds and speeds and tool selections
- Work effectively with team to ensure successful delivery to customer
- High school Diploma / GED
- 5+ years CNC Machining Experience
- Vertical Milling Experience
- Ability to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as required
- Experience with GE Fanuc Controls and proven ability to use shop math, including trigonometry and geometry
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends, as required
- Ability to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram form
- Desire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company success
- Ability to work well with others and communicate problems clearly and effectively with support team
