Job Summary

The CNC Machinist will work on-site at the GE Service Center to service and manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their subassemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries
  • Set-up and operate CNC equipment including fixtures and tooling
  • Read CNC programs, familiar with G & M codes
  • Make minor edits to CNC programs
  • Read and interpret Engineered Blueprint drawings
  • Understand and apply geometric tolerances
  • Set up and safely use various inspection tools and gages (i.e., inner diameter (I/D) & outer diameter (O/D) Mics, calipers, Pi-tape, bore gages, Tri-mics, thread gages, etc...)
  • Machine to required tolerances of.001"
  • Determine machining feeds and speeds and tool selections
  • Work effectively with team to ensure successful delivery to customer
Requirements
  • High school Diploma / GED
  • 5+ years CNC Machining Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vertical Milling Experience
  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as required
  • Experience with GE Fanuc Controls and proven ability to use shop math, including trigonometry and geometry
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends, as required
  • Ability to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram form
  • Desire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company success
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate problems clearly and effectively with support team
