Fleet Mechanic Job Description

Fay Block Materials Inc is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing effective troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair on a variety of fleet equipment at our shop or at remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform timely service and repairs on fleet equipment, including engines, fuel systems, emissions, and other critical systems.
  • Inspect vehicles to manufacturers and DOT standards, document findings, and submit vehicle condition reports.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping, including work orders and inspection logs.
  • Perform area maintenance activities, including inspecting, maintaining, and cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and productively manage working hours and work schedules to support customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, with certification in diesel technology or other specialty a plus.
  • Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation to work.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and diligently with minimal directions.
