Position Overview:

The role of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is pivotal in executing MR procedures while adhering to the standards and ethical guidelines set forth by the ARRT. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate proficiency in various computer applications, particularly those related to technical systems, alongside a robust understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, pathophysiology, and the principles of magnetic resonance physics. This position operates under the general oversight of the Site Manager, MRI Modality Specialist, and Radiologist.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Rate: $67.33, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. Additionally, a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus is available for eligible candidates.

TRA Medical Imaging also provides comprehensive benefits including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, a competitive 401K plan with a 3% employer contribution, 17 days of paid time off for new employees, 9 paid holidays, along with opportunities for professional growth and continuing education reimbursement.

Work Environment:

This is a float position, requiring flexibility to support various outpatient facilities. Float staff are eligible for an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential.

Work Schedule:

The position is structured as a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare patients for MRI examinations by providing detailed explanations and clear instructions.
  2. Gather comprehensive patient histories relevant to the scheduled procedures.
  3. Execute physician orders accurately, ensuring high-quality imaging with minimal repeats.
  4. Perform intravenous punctures as required.
  5. Conduct necessary computer operations associated with patient examinations (PACS).
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work and patient examination areas, ensuring adequate supply levels.
  7. Participate in training and orientation sessions for new personnel.
  8. Check work email regularly for updates and communications.
  9. Complete all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • ARRT (R) or AMRIT Registry certification is required.
  • ARRT (MR) Registered or eligible for (MR) Registry.
  • Valid Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification or eligibility for licensure.
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to apply IV principles within the scope of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Deliver patient care aligned with TRA's mission statement.
  • Maintain high standards for accurate patient information recording.
  • Present high-quality images and relevant patient histories to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and efficiency with minimal absenteeism.
  • Foster good relationships with colleagues to ensure optimal patient care and workflow.
  • Utilize appropriate communication styles in a clinical setting.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

This role involves moderate physical demands, including the ability to assist patients of varying weights and the capacity to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Manual dexterity is required for operating office equipment.

Mental acuity is essential, with a focus on attention to detail and the ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining confidentiality.

Work Environment:

The work environment is primarily office-based, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
