About the Role

Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking a skilled Counselor to join our team in Lufkin, TX. As a Counselor, you will provide individual and group therapy services to families and children through our Counseling Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze program needs and develop, implement, and monitor programs to meet the changing needs of clients.
  • Complete needs assessments and develop individual therapeutic goals/action plans with clients.
  • Provide timely and appropriate services to clients, including individual, family, and group therapies.
  • Accurately document individual, family, and group therapies in accordance with established guidelines and licensing standards.
  • Develop and conduct therapeutic, educational, and/or devotional groups.
Requirements
  • LCSW, LMFT, or LMSW working toward an LCSW through the Texas State Board of Social Workers Examiners or an LPC or a Masters in Psychology working toward an LPC or LMFT full licensure.
  • Minimum 3 years prior related experience working with children and families required.
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable.
  • Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
