We are seeking a dependable Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to become part of our exceptional fleet maintenance team.
The Vehicle Maintenance Specialist will be tasked with servicing a wide variety of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from multiple manufacturers.
These vehicles' propulsion systems encompass diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric in certain locations.
Vehicle Maintenance Specialists must be adept at diagnosing and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Vehicle Maintenance Specialists should be prepared to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, based on the needs of the location.
Vehicle Maintenance Specialists must have the necessary hand tools to perform the assigned tasks.Responsibilities and Duties:
• Comply with D.O.T requirements as dictated by job assignment
• Engage in physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday
• Sit infrequently, as required, throughout the workday
• Utilize simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
• Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles
• Use power and pneumatic tools
Requirements:
• Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state
• Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location's needs.
• Must have the required hand tools to perform the applicable job assignment.Knowledge and Skills:
• Current documented automotive mechanical experience
• Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
• Possesses a complete set of personal hand tools
• Class A/B or A/C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred
• Reliable with the ability to report to work consistently and complete scheduled workdays
• Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime as required
• Adhere to personal protective equipment requirements
• Work in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, and outside inclement weather.
Collaborate effectively in a diverse work environmentCommunicate efficiently through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $ 35.58 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and/or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.
