As an Operating Room Surgery Scheduler, your primary responsibility will be to manage the scheduling and confirmation of patients for surgical procedures. This role demands strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure a high level of satisfaction for patients, medical staff, and administrative teams.
We are looking for a dedicated individual who demonstrates accountability and a sense of urgency to meet the needs of our patients effectively. The role requires adaptability and excellent time management skills to handle a variety of tasks with different complexities.
Position Details:
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, with hours from 6:30 AM to 3 PM, and some flexibility for schedule adjustments. There may be rotating holidays and potential weekend coverage as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scheduling for elective, urgent, or emergent surgeries using a computerized system.
- Verify physician privileges and maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Manage patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is current.
- Prepare and distribute reports and statistical data for management review.
- Act as a liaison between medical staff, patients, and families, addressing inquiries and providing information.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with two years of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are necessary to meet deadlines and maintain productivity standards. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional education or experience in a related field is preferred.
