Position Details:
The Allina Health Cancer Institute is in search of an Oncology Infusion Advanced Practice Provider to serve in the west region of the Twin Cities, including Minneapolis and surrounding areas.
- This is a full-time role with Monday to Friday business hours.
- The team comprises Hematologist/Oncologists and Advanced Practice Providers.
- The position involves responsibilities in the infusion center, as well as patient consultations in both clinic and hospital settings.
- Opportunity to contribute to the development of infusion center programs.
- Utilization of Epic, a leading electronic health record (EHR) system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments.
- Order and interpret medical diagnostics in collaboration with the attending physician.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical equipment as needed.
- Provide patient education for chronic illness management and wellness care.
- Refer patients for specialty care when necessary.
- Consult with physicians for cases outside of NP/PA scope of practice or when diagnosis or treatment plans are unclear.
- Facilitate communication within the healthcare team and with other interdisciplinary staff.
- Serve as a resource for team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Preferred:
- New graduates may be considered; however, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Minnesota required upon hire (for NP candidates).
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) or Physician Assistant (NCCPA) within specialty required upon hire.
- BLS certification required within 180 days of hire.
- Drug Enforcement Administration registration required upon hire.
Physical Demands:
Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently, in accordance with Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy.
