Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at the US Veterans Health Administration. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and blood gases. You will also be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and blood gases
  • Maintain the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, medical technology, or a related field
  • Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and regulations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with frequent exposure to chemicals and biological specimens. You must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
