About the Role:
Lovelace Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Surgical Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients' progress and prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
- Assist patients with range of motion and draw blood.
Requirements:
- High School or GED.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.
- Preferred qualifications include 2 years' experience in acute or long-term care, completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, knowledge of medical terminology, experience in Phlebotomy, or completion of a Phlebotomy course.
