Eckerd Connects is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our team at our Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program in Boomer, NC. As a Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in guiding and influencing group activities that enhance the youth's confidence and self-esteem. You will ensure the progress and welfare of each client and the group through therapeutic programs, leading group activities, and providing individual counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead group activities and provide individual counseling to at-risk youth
- Ensure the progress and welfare of each client and the group through therapeutic programs
- Provide a positive and supportive role model for the youth
- Supervise staff during afternoon, evening, and sleeping hours
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience working with youth
- Direct care experience in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting preferred
- Ability to travel and participate in aquatic activities
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet Eckerd's Auto Insurance requirements
