About the Role

The City of Gardner is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Police Officer. As a member of our law enforcement team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional police service to our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general police duties, including patrol work, conducting preliminary investigations, and other public safety-related tasks.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to the public.
  • Enforce laws and regulations, and maintain order in the community.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to achieve common goals.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard high school, supplemented by training from a certified law enforcement academy or center.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to maintain proficiency in firearms to Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) Standards.
  • Physical and mental fitness, and at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay and lateral transfer pay based on experience.
  • Certified officers will receive a $3000 hiring bonus, and non-certified officers will receive a $2000 hiring bonus.
