Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Lube Technician to join our team at George Moore Chevrolet. As a Lube Technician, you will be responsible for performing and completing all work assigned by the Service Manager.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Performing fluid and filter maintenance according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Performing all aspects of tire services.
  • Communicating with Service Consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Saving and tagging parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examining assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Documenting all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road testing vehicles when required or referring to the test technician. Recording mileage driven on test on the repair order.
  • Ensuring that the customer's vehicle is kept clean. Notifying the Service Consultant immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keeping the shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintaining and being accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returning them to their proper place and in the same condition as received.
  • Understanding, keeping abreast of, and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Delivering customer cars to service stalls as requested.
  • Picking up parts from the Parts Department as directed.
  • Performing safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance, and minor repairs as directed.
  • Replenishing supplies as requested by technicians or Shop Managers.
  • Reporting machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Attending training classes and departmental meetings.
  • Operating all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • When no vehicles are available to service, will be assigned various tasks.

Requirements:

  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Preferred 3-6 months related experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Math skills.
  • Reasoning skills.
