We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Therapist to join our team at Seneca Family of Agencies. As a School Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health services to students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Responsibilities- Provide interventions, including therapy and case management, for identified students based on school-based referrals and individualized clinical assessment.
- Engage caregivers in the treatment process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs.
- Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage.
- Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training.
- Consult with other school staff on safety assessments, mental health crises, and accessing social services.
- Contribute to a strong school culture by participating in or leading small group, classroom, or school-wide activities that celebrate success and promote joy.
- Communicate effectively with families and other stakeholders involved in the daily life of the student.
- Complete required data collection and service documentation for plan development and to measure the effectiveness of services.
- Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology.
- Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS.
- Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is strongly preferred.
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
- Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting spots.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to the growth and development of an engaged program culture.
- Starting salary: $71,080-$85,080, dependent on creditable experience.
- $2000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees in this position.
- $4000 salary increase upon licensure.
- Salary increase upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam.
- Salary increases each year.
