Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to serve as a campus switchboard operator and police dispatcher. This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and high-stress situations, while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to all radio communications, dispatching calls for service and providing assistance, direction, and information via telephone and radio.
  • Enter all relevant data into the department's records management system, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide assistance to the communication specialist as needed, and perform special projects as required, including training other dispatchers.
  • Collaborate with Security and Safety Officials to coordinate activities and ensure effective communication.

Requirements
