Job Summary:

The Harnett Health Residency Program seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Core Faculty Member to support the educational aspects and administration of our Internal Medicine Residency Program. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with the Program Director and Associate Program Director to provide excellence in residency education and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Education: Participate in providing high-quality education to residents in internal medicine, including lecture preparation, teaching, and mentoring.
  • Administrative Tasks: Dedicate at least 20% of your time to administrative duties, such as program administration, evaluation, curriculum development, committee involvement, and scholarship.
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance residency education, patient care, or housestaff work-life balance.
  • Clinical Experience: Precept in the IM residency clinic for 80% of the time, providing valuable clinical experience for residents.
  • Mentorship: Facilitate supervision of resident scholarly activity and ensure they meet minimum standards.
  • Professional Development: Maintain licensure, certifications, and competencies necessary for this role.
  • Program Support: Attend residency program-related meetings, participate in recruitment, and contribute to policy development.

Requirements:

  • A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from a COCA-accredited college or an M.D. degree from an LCME-accredited Medical School.
  • A valid medical license and ability to obtain North Carolina licensure.
  • AOA or ABIM Board certification.
  • Membership in good standing in professional and governmental organizations.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
