Position Overview

The Culinary Preparation Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and output of all menu offerings. This position involves preparing the necessary ingredients that enable the line cooks to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares all food items by washing, chopping, and cutting according to established recipe guidelines.
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of the designated station as well as the overall kitchen area.
  • Adheres to production lists when completing assigned tasks.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of assigned recipes and actively shares culinary insights.
  • Guarantees that all stored products are labeled and organized in accordance with FIFO and company protocols.
  • Communicates ingredient needs to chefs and support staff effectively.
  • Properly sets up the prep station and executes other opening and closing procedures as directed by management.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Culinary Preparation Specialist in a medium to high-volume dining establishment.
  • Conversational proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills, along with interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, problem-solving capabilities, and time management proficiency.
  • Actively participates as a team player by supporting colleagues throughout the workday.

Required Certifications

  • Food Handling Safety certification is mandatory.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and bend up to 50 lbs is essential.
  • This role may involve tasks requiring repetitive motion.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning agents is possible.
  • Must maintain focus and efficiency in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including varying shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
