Job Summary:
As a Speech Language Pathologist at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, you will be responsible for administering and directly applying Speech/Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Your role will involve evaluating, planning, directing, and treating patients referred for Speech/Language Pathology to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.

You will assist patients in obtaining maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine \"normal\" life within the constraints of their disability.

Participate in performance improvement activities within the department and contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. Ensure personal competency and provide information related to departmental budget considerations in relation to Speech Pathology needs for optimum patient care and service. Assist in scheduling patient visits for speech pathology evaluation and treatment. Perform some administrative duties at the delegation of the Rehabilitation Services Director.

Participate in Infection Control, Safety, and Educational Programs, both in the department and on an organizational basis, and other tasks as assigned.


Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience:
A Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology is required. Current State License in Speech Pathology (as Speech Pathologist) is also necessary. CPR certification must be obtained during the orientation period. Previous work history demonstrating steady attendance and punctuality is required.
