About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team at Prisma Health. As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various conditions and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient examinations, prescribe medications, and provide consultation and medical and/or surgical treatment to correct and/or treat various conditions, illnesses, and injuries.
- Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families.
- Provide appropriate consultations, referrals, and follow-up care based on patients' needs.
- Exercise sound medical judgment in all issues of healthcare.
- Order studies, tests, and ancillary services.
- Utilize electronic medical records, including CPOE.
- Consult with Medical Director, other physicians, or mid-level providers as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
- Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by hospital or clinical requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
- Uphold the standards of professionalism and remain dedicated to clinical excellence. Respect diversity and embody the Prisma Health Vision and Values.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited school required.
- Completion of Residency.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in area of specialty, licensed to practice in the state of South Carolina.
- BLS Required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in the treatment of patients.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
