Job Description

As a Lawn Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our operations. You will be responsible for applying lawn and shrub chemicals and fertilizers safely and effectively, adhering to our horticultural application program.

Responsibilities:
  • Safely apply lawn and shrub chemicals and fertilizers, following all label requirements and safety protocols.
  • Handle, distribute, apply, and store all chemicals and fertilizers in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform work for assigned accounts within budget constraints.
  • Operate all application equipment proficiently and maintain it in good working order.
  • Ensure spray trucks are organized, clean, and compliant with all regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, boots, glasses) at all times.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of label requirements for all chemicals used.
  • Calibrate equipment accurately to ensure efficient chemical application.
  • Promote efficient chemical usage and minimize waste.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and enhancements for existing accounts.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, providing clear explanations of services performed and addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and document all activities diligently.
  • Utilize smartphones for routing, billing, timekeeping, and record-keeping purposes.
  • Become an expert in weed/pest identification, pesticide application, and fertility requirements for turf grass and landscape ornamentals.
  • Keep certifications current and actively pursue continuing education opportunities.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • Monitor equipment regularly to prevent damage and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Assist with snow removal and other general maintenance tasks as required.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
