We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department at Texas Health HEB. As a Paramedic, you will provide safe patient care under physician delegation, administering medications, completing accurate documentation, and providing consistent attention to patient needs.
Responsibilities- Administer IV fluids, medications, and other treatments as delegated by physicians
- Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- Provide consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility, and hygiene needs
- Apply antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices
- Cervical collar management
- External defibrillation
- Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application
- Oral airway insertion and removal
- Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access
- Draw blood from ports
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required
- EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or LP - Licensed Paramedic
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only) within 60 days of hire required
