We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Ellis Medicine. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in the safe and effective conduct of invasive procedures in our cath lab.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Pass instruments and assist the cardiologist within their scope of practice.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to utilize resources in a cost-effective manner and promote continuous quality improvement.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, modified Ramsey and pain scales, EKG tracing, pressures, and other hemodynamic data during procedures.
- Read back verification and document medications administered by the RN and/or physician, contrast administered by the MD, RN or Licensed radiology tech, and supplies used.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and specialized training in cardiology, such as an Applied Science degree in Cardiovascular Technology or other related medical field.
- Nationally accredited certification or eligibility for certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
- ACLS certification is mandatory.
- Current Cardiovascular Tech or Radiology Tech license required.
The Cardiovascular Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, providing scheduled on-call coverage on a rotating basis during department off-hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical RequirementsThe ideal candidate will be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., perform moderately difficult manual manipulations, and perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination.
