Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a skilled Metal Finisher Specialist to join our team in Duluth, Minnesota. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing metal materials and applying metal surface finishes such as powdercoat and paint.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform metal preparation operations such as grit blasting, surface abrasion, deburring, sawing, and basic fabrication.
- Apply metal surface finishes to aircraft and aircraft-related components.
- Follow verbal, written, and electronic work instructions to complete tasks and record pertinent manufacturing data where required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality.
- Perform inspections of work completed and document deviations from engineering drawings.
- Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Attention to detail: Ability to achieve cosmetically acceptable finishes by following application processes and using judgment.
- Mechanical aptitude: Ability to use hand tools and shop equipment to perform assembly, installation, fabrication, and rework tasks on metal aircraft components.
- Problem-solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and lead a systematic approach to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Communication: Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively with all levels of the organization in both verbal and written forms.
