Position Overview:
The Automation Technician plays a crucial role in the operation of beverage manufacturing and packaging machinery. This position demands expertise in Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines, utilizing tools such as Rockwell engineering software, electrical diagnostics, and networking skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment malfunctions, engaging in failure analysis and proactive problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with production teams to make informed decisions and swiftly address system issues through thorough investigation and analysis.
  • Conduct maintenance, testing, and upgrades on all production machinery, including the installation of new food manufacturing and packaging systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of site instrumentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary, alongside routine Automation maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while adhering to safe workplace practices.
  • Foster positive and respectful relationships with managers, supervisors, maintenance staff, and machine operators.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of experience in industrial manufacturing Automation maintenance is required.
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs/VFDs and Rockwell Engineering tools is essential.
  • Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills are necessary.
  • Experience in instrumentation diagnostics and calibration is preferred.
Position-Specific Skills:
  • Ability to utilize Studio5000, RSLogix5000, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5 software for troubleshooting.
  • Competence in online downloading with Rockwell Engineering tools via Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.
  • Capability to implement minor programming modifications.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and P&ID symbols.
  • Proficient in using a multimeter and working with control panels up to 480VAC.
  • Experience in replacing and configuring AB PowerFlex 40, 400, and 525 VFDs.
  • Ability to replace PanelView series HMIs and manage application downloads using Rockwell graphics tools.
  • Aptitude for ongoing technical skill development.
  • Knowledge of computer fundamentals and diagnostic techniques.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals and diagnostics.
