Job Summary

Cambridge Systematics is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Accounting team. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing financial support to the company, including preparation of month-end journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting
    • Prepare monthly journal entries
    • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation
    • Assist in preparation for annual audit
    • Maintain assigned subsidiary ledger
    • Assist in assembling monthly financial statement in compliance with GAAP
    • Summarize findings on monthly financial reports
    • Assist with used tax and property tax filings
  • Accounts Payable
    • Manage vendor invoices, including vouching, data entry, posting, and filing
    • Research, reconcile, and resolve vendor statements and inquiries
    • Prepare and process checks in accordance with company policies
    • Review and process employee expense reports for compliance with GAAP and FAR
    • Update tracking for all cash disbursement activity
    • Assist with monthly closing of Accounts payable and prepares related journal entries as appropriate
  • Timesheet Review
    • Review and approve timesheet corrections on a weekly basis
    • Develop and apply a strong understanding of the timesheet cycle and labor cost entries
  • Fixed Asset
    • Maintain Fixed Asset Ledger, computes and reviews monthly depreciation calculation
    • Work with other departments in maintaining fixed asset tracking logs
  • Fiduciary Responsibility
    • Continuous focus on the safeguarding of company assets
    • Maintain confidentiality with all financial documents and sensitive company and employee information
    • Maintain proper filing and documentation with strong attention to detail
    • Accountable for knowledge of and compliance with GAAP and company accounting policy
    • Maintain and adhere to internal control structure
  • Customer Service
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate internal client relationships
    • Provide support to Project Managers
    • Provide support to Business Line Managers as needed
Requirements
  • 1-5 years of applicable experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word required
  • This position has a requirement to work a few days per week in our office location
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ADP and Workforce Now
  • Experience with lease crunching software or ASC 842
