We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Mueller Water Products, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating manufacturing processes, developing and implementing process improvements, and ensuring product and process quality.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize production efficiency.
- Develop and implement process improvements, including the design and testing of new manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product and process quality, including the development of testing methods and standards.
- Provide data-driven insights to inform manufacturing decisions, including production costs, labor costs, and material costs.
- Analyze and summarize data to prepare product and process reports, and maintain product and process data through identified computer programs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
- Two+ years of manufacturing experience involving assembly and test operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess problems/issues with manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with capital projects scope development, justification, and management.
- Strong working knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, and automation and robotic applications.
- Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of CNC and PLC systems.
- Ability to work with your hands.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic reading, writing, arithmetic (shop math), and comprehensive skills.
