Job Summary:

The MYSA Autism Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to deliver applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions to individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collect and record data on client behavior and progress.
  2. Provide direct therapy to clients, implementing Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs) directed by behavior analysts/consultants.
  3. Teach clients to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills as stated in the ITPs.
  4. Assist clients with acquiring academic and/or appropriate life skills, including toilet training, eating, and other self-help skills.
  5. Participate in staff training programs to increase overall skills and knowledge.
  6. Communicate effectively with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, therapist trainers, therapists, and clients in a professional and respectful manner.
  7. Observe, record, and report client behavior and progress, including maintaining daily records.
  8. Work with clients, staff, families, and community to implement client treatment plans.
  9. Implement behavior plans to reduce client socially inappropriate behavior and promote appropriate social behaviors.
  10. Respond to and manage crisis situations, including client physical aggression and property destruction.
  11. Complete daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner.
  12. Follow company policies and procedures, including adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  13. Submit all notes, progress reports, billing, and other necessary documentation on time.
