The Lourie Center Head Start, a federally funded community-based program, seeks an experienced Head Start Lead Teacher to join our team. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood education to children from birth to five years old.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the Tools of the Mind curriculum, guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, to promote children's development and learning.
  • Use assessment data to inform curriculum decisions and individual/group plans.
  • Collaborate with parents and complete ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE assessments to identify developmental concerns.
  • Prioritize children's health, safety, and social/emotional well-being, promoting a culture of excellence and family.
  • Attend trainings, engage in coaching cycles, and develop a Professional Development Plan for your growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in early childhood education, with 3 years preferred.
  • 90-hour infant/toddler certification preferred.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Work Schedule and Location:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with locations in Riverdale and Landover, MD.
