Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Student Transportation of America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex operations on large commercial vehicles, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
  • Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation, following OEM and other standards.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, interpreting and working from drawings, specifications, and other technical materials.
  • Perform emergency roadside services as needed, ensuring prompt and safe resolution of issues.
  • Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
  • Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Perform other duties as required, including on-call service calls, extended hours, or weekend work flexibility.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic, with accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
  • Complete all training requirements and pass a pre-employment background check.
